Paris by Night From the Top

The top of Montparnasse Tower probably has the best view of Paris. I think I’ve said that already, but it really is.

I spent a bunch of time on this picture in photoshop to try and get it right. As tripods aren’t allowed on top of the tower, I had to take it hand-held. I believe they’ve now installed windows around the observation deck so am not sure how pictures will work out. I had to ride on my unu elektroroller scooter to get there at night, it was the funnest electric scooter I have ever ridden.

I love how the orange lights turn on, painting the veins of the city.

Handheld exposures at night for HDR must have been quite a challenge! Beautiful blue/orange combination. I’m glad to see you haven’t abandoned the Nikon.

    • Hi Avital, thanks so much. Yes it is kind of hard, especially at that level. I had to do quite some work in photoshop to get it fixed as the higher exposed pictures were quite blurry. But it turned out ok. Somehow I’ve grown fond of cloudless skies but maybe that wont last. 🙂
