Christmas on Champs Elysees

Christmas on Champs Elysees

Champs Elysees is amazing over the Christmas period, the lights go up in the all the trees over 100 of them, the Ferris wheel goes up on Place de la Concorde and the Christmas Market goes up on the first part of the avenue. It gets nice and cosy with the hot wine and other food and beverages they serve. But Paris has been very wet in the last few weeks so when I went to see “les champs” it was cold, wet and full of people.

But I did want to get a shot of the nice parts. I took this with the Arc the Triomphe in the back getting almost all of the 2 km long avenue.

Standing in the traffic with tripod for some 5 minutes or so as I tried different settings was pretty intense at times, as I had to stand outside of the crossing to avoid the large traffic post.

It’s an HDR photo which I retouched slightly to take out the burned lights of the cars coming my way.

  1. This would be a perfect time to open your Flickr account, as it’s now Flare Friday! 🙂

  2. A winter wonderland! Fantastic!
